If you’re new here, this recent conversation offers a gentle entry point into the heart of what’s explored on this site.
In dialogue with Raman Mittal on Idanim Inspirations, Teja reflects on meditation, self-inquiry, the nature of the mind, and the question of who we take ourselves to be. Rather than offering conclusions or techniques, the conversation unfolds as a shared inquiry — inviting you to listen, notice, and explore for yourself.
There’s no need to agree with anything that’s said. Simply listen, and see what resonates.
There is no ‘personal enlightenment.’ It’s a myth. There is nothing to attain and no one to attain it. There is only Being. This is the message being shared here.
And of course, I quickly discovered this message was in contrast or conflict with 95% of the questions being asked and the advice being offered about ‘spiritual awakening’ or ‘enlightenment.’
Initially, I felt moved to persist and ‘edify’ the misguided questioners with this
Absolute message, hence setting them free. To ‘liberate’ them from their
hopeless, misguided search for something that could never happen,
indeed, something that doesn’t even need to happen.
I soon realized that every dream-character is exactly where “they” belong,
acting out that apparent part of The One Being’s dream,
including any relative wisdom or ignorance about some imagined ‘spiritual path.’ Including “their” adamant, unshakable insistence that this misleading, truly ego-based promise of ‘enlightenment’ was the most real, and most ‘noble,’ of all life’s pursuits.
It became clear that endeavoring to redirect the dream-character’s misunderstandings was “my” folly. All those rudimentary, unaware questions, asked repeatedly by naive ‘seekers’ trapped in stagnant cultural/religious myths, such as:
“How do I attain ‘enlightenment/moksha?’”
“How do I deal with ‘karma,’ and how many lifetimes/incarnations must I experience to resolve all my ‘karma’ and attain nirvana?“
“Will ‘getting enlightened’ end all my suffering?”
“How can ‘I’ (ego) eliminate my ego“
“How can I find a true ‘guru’ who can lead me to liberation?”
“Where do our ’souls’ go after ‘enlightenment’ or ‘death?’
Do we even have ‘souls?’”
“Can I eat meat or enjoy sex and still attain moksha?”
“Does this or that spiritual path, or choosing monkhood vs. householder life,
lead to ‘enlightenment’ better, quicker, more reliably?”
How come various ‘enlightened sages’ die from human disease? Why didn’t they cure themselves through the power of mind or body control, gained from meditation and ‘being ‘enlightened?
“I keep seeing a light, or certain numbers, in my meditations.
What does it signify? Does it mean I’m ‘awakening?’”
and so on.
This is a radically different message.
It’s not for every dreamer.
In Being’s dream, it’s literally most ‘dreamers’ function to be misidentified with their illusory ‘self,’ or become desperate enlightenment seekers, asking these elementary, ego-based questions. Others become dream-teachers who insist the most ‘compassionate’ thing is to ‘help’ these dream-seekers by giving “them” ‘hope,’ techniques, and the false promise that the ‘personal enlightenment’ they are longing for is real. As if the ‘seeker’ has any agency. All part of the dream.
Here, only the Absolute Reality is revealed:
There is no one and nothing to attain. Nothing needs to change.
It’s all perfect, because it’s all What Is.
As Ramana Maharshi clarified:
“The Self, Being, The Whole is always ItSelf, always perfect, and there is
no such thing as ‘attaining it,’ awakening to it.
“Who” is to awaken to what, and how, when all that exists is Being?”
Indeed, if there is only the Singularity, the One Essence, “who” is to have ever become ‘separated from That and need to somehow re-realize, re-join
or re-merge with Itself?
Being appears to be projecting a dream-of-separateness, so it appears there are actual separate entities that need to ‘attain’ something, to become un-separated.
But it’s just a dream, an illusion. Just as there seemed to be scores or hundreds of
real people, activities, structures, etc. in your dreams last night,
when in fact they were all just hallucinatory appearances projected
on a screen you cannot find within your mind.
Our website opens up this Absolute conversation and welcomes you to join in.
Here we will focus only on those points, questions, and answers already beyond these unaware discussions & delusions about “attaining enlightenment.”
Here, we will look beyond traditional misguided questions about paths to ‘liberation,’ proscribed spiritual practices, karma, reincarnation and
any need to attain freedom from anything – for those ready to hear,
and fully resonate with the obvious and infallible transcendent message that
there is nothing to attain and no one to attain it. All are welcome, whatever you ‘believe’ and wherever you think “you” are on some path..
There is only Being, only What Is, and it’s already perfect. Are “you” ready to let go and truly realize and resonate with that, or do you still feel compelled to ‘seek’ and ask questions about how to ‘attain?’ If there is a readiness to totally & completely cease “your” illusory seeking for enlightenment – to truly receive that neither enlightenment, any path, nor any “you” actually exist – “you” (the dream-character Being is dreaming as “you”) may find this a welcoming Space.
